Radio to Radio

In its simplest form a radio network consists of two or more radios communicating directly with one another.  The system can either operate as an ‘all-informed’ network so that everyone with a radio hears all of the other conversations, or it can operate in a way that keeps conversations between specific users, or groups of users private.

Users in a network can be hand portable (wallkie-talkie) radios, mobiles fitted into vehicles or base stations installed at a fixed location or any combination of these.

There are many features available to radio users that make modern radio network as functional and feature rich as many cellular networks, with the advantage that all calls across a radio network are completely free of charge.
